Attending a business networking event to meet people is great! But there is a bit of work that should be done before you even get there (not to mention afterwards!).
Before the event, consider reaching out to the “powers that be.” Ask questions about the meeting in order to learn more.
Some questions to ask: “What is the purpose of the meeting?” “Retention rate of members?” “How many new members typically attend each meeting?” “Who are the speakers?” “Objectives of the meeting or chapter?” “Since I’m attending the event, can I help in any way?”
